“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said, ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
Our children’s ministry is designed to support parents as they nurture the faith development of their children. We have three main goals in children’s ministry that align with Cross’s overall mission and vision. We have designed our program so that:
Walk with God
Families can worship together. We offer interactive worship notes and children’s messages each weekend in addition to our intergenerational worship on Wednesday evenings and special family oriented services several times a year.
Grow in Faith Together
Parents are provided with resources to help them lead faith conversations in their homes and to help them guide their children through the Bible in age-appropriate ways.
Love our Neighbors
Families are encouraged to serve together with our various service projects throughout the year.
Adults and teens in the congregation are encouraged to serve in our children’s ministry so that each child will have at least one other adult mentoring them in the faith and strengthening the foundation that parents have laid.
We offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of children of all ages
The nursery will be available during our last 2 church services during the school year. Summertime hours only covers the last service. It is designed for infants and toddlers up to age three. If there is a request for the nursery outside of the normal hours, please call the church office at 630-553- 7335.
Sunday morning Cross Kids is up and running. This takes place in our small gym. Check in begins before 9:15 am. Cross Kids is for children 4 years of age up to 4th grade. When children are not involved in Cross Kids, we encourage families to worship together. Resources like children’s bibles in the pews, and worship activity bags are available at all services.
