Support Groups

Encouragement and Care

Cross Lutheran’s support groups are for congregation members looking for additional guidance and care during a particularly hard time. Our support groups are a safe place where you can reflect and heal. Here, you will not feel judged, but instead will be surrounded by love and encouragement from your fellow members.

Cancer Care is a one-on-one ministry for cancer patients, caregivers, and families. If you are on your treatment journey or are caring for someone who is receiving treatment, we hope to find how we can best help you along the way. We know each person and situation is unique. We hope to tailor the care to what is best for you and your family during this time.

This could mean providing home visits, hospital visits, phone calls, get-well cards, emails, prayer, meals, helping with household chores and transportation needs, or even providing love and support from our Cross Cancer Care Ministry and other Care Ministries as needed. GriefShare is a 13-week support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. Each GriefShare session includes a DVD that has top experts on grief and recovery along with real-life stories of people who have experienced similar losses. Small group discussions follow the videos. For more detailed information contact Steve Riehle-Moeller at 630-688-9884.

This includes people who are grieving, divorced, terminally ill, unemployed, hospitalized, homebound, lonely or discouraged, or experiencing other life struggles.
