High School youth meet year round. We have three specific times when we meet. On Wednesday’s at the Youth Center is our main Youth Group time from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm The activities are creative and usually experiential. We also meet on Sunday mornings for a morning hot topic study @ 9:30 am. Sunday nights are our Bible studies that are off-site. We also offer fall and winter retreats. The Workcamp Mission trip is very rewarding too! The HS group is active and something to check out! Our Ministry Over the last four decades, America has been a youth-driven culture. Our fashions have reflected the fads and changing tastes of young people. Our language has become peppered with teen expressions. The media & ads have catered to the interests, sense of humor, and preferences of young adults. Life-styles have been transformed with today’s technologies. Even our values have been redirected to some extent by the boundary-challenging, self-absorbed nature of our teens. Because of the above, our High School ministry continues to prepare young adults to face the world we live in with a solid ministry with Jesus at the center. Activities, WorkCamps and More!
All Kinds of Activities... Understanding the Multi-Level Approach to Youth Ministry - Come & See Level: Teens at this level are simply checking the Group out - Offer hook and Bait events and watch numbers increase - What are those events at Cross ? This is why you have 50 kids at a ski retreat and only 12 in a Bible Study!!!
- Grow Level: At this level teens are open to going deeper than just the come level. At this level - teens are not actively engaged in a Bible study - but grow level teens are not necessarily turned off from a deeper commitment if they are supported along the way. The grow level is often a Sunday morning class or mid week program that addresses an array of practical life issues from a spiritual stand point or even a specific type of Mission work/ projects. Numbers become a little less than hook and bait events - but the goal is for the come & see teens to commit/ grow into the Grow Level.
- Disciple Level: At this level teens are ready to take on responsibility. They are open to structure and discipline and are beginning to take on initiative for their own spiritual growth. At this level teens are actively engaged in a small group study/ covenant group or matched with an accountability partner. Numbers are smaller at this level - but the goal is to have grow level teens mature into this level of ministry.
- Develop Level: Teens at this level are ready for responsibility. They are ready to develop leadership skills and minister at the peer level.
- Multiplication Level: At this level teens are ready to share their lives with others by doing evangelism, outreach programs, actively leading Come & see level & grow level events or co - leading a discipleship group.
This IS WHAT WE STRIVE TO ACHIEVE AT CROSS. We attempt to provide a HS Ministry that everyone will be attracted to so they may grow in their relationship with Jesus.
