Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois (LCFS) was founded in 1873 as the Lutheran Orphan Home in Addison. Today LCFS is a statewide social service agency offering a wide range of services to children and families, including individual, marital and family counseling.
LCFS is an officially recognized human care ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod; licensed by the State of Illinois; accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children; and a member of the Lutheran Services in America.
Counseling is available at several sites throughout Illinois, including Yorkville. While responding in accordance with the Christian faith, LCFS counselors are clinically trained and credentialed with mastor's degrees in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or Pastoral Counseling. The staff bring a wealth of experience to the Agency, and they continue to enhance their skills through ongoing supervision, consultation and in-service training programs.
LCFS also offers pre-maritial counseling using the Prepare/Enrich assessment. Support groups and topical workshops are offered on occasion throughout the year.
