Our Journey of Hope

Our ministry purpose and goal is to bring practical support and the hope of Christ to every person in our congregation and community affected by this illness that God places in our care. So they know they are not alone! In difficult times, God's answer is often a gift of hope .

WHY CANCER IS IT DIFFERENT??? - IT ATTACKS HOPE!

Over 1.6 million Americans are diagnosed with cancer every year per the American Cancer Society.

1 out of 2 men will be affected
1 out of 3 women

CROSS CANCER CARE MINISTRY IS HERE TO HELP PATIENTS AND THEIR CARE GIVERS:

  • Patients do not want to be defined by their cancer
  • Caregivers are so busy taking care of their loved one they often neglect their own health
  • Patients and caregivers often have no time or energy for daily tasks
  • God often uses Cancer Care Ministry to bring emotional and spiritual healing, and practical support to individuals and their caregivers

THE VALUE OF BEING A PART OF CANCER MINISTRY

Many Personal Rewards of this Ministry include:
  • The miraculous peace and joy that often God gives his Children dealing with cancer blesses those who walk alongside them
  • The profound relationships built
  • The opportunity to see God touch a person s life
  • A stronger faith over time -- you are going to have to trust God throughout this journey, for only He can heal

WHAT OUR JOURNEY OF HOPE TRAINING LOOKS LIKE

  • Biblically Based
  • 7 weeks in length - each session about 2 hours (and continued monthly training session and ongoing mentoring)
  • Video/ Discussion/ Group Exercises
  • Lots of time in prayer asking God to guide us and seeing the importance of listening and trusting in Him

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:23-24

HOW CAN WE (AND MAYBE YOU) HELP?

This ministry is a one on one ministry to the cancer patient, care giver, and family. Our hope is to meet folks where they are on their journey, and find how we can best help them today! We know each situation and each person is unique and hope to tailor the care to what is best at that time. This could mean to provide home visits, hospital visits, phone calls, get-well cards, emails, prayer, meals, help with household chores, help with transportation needs and provide loving support from Cross Cancer Care Ministry and other Care Ministry support as needed.
